KELLY

Hi ladies! My name is Kelly. I live about four hours away on the other side of Oregon. I have two main businesses. One is a coffee shop and the other one is a business repurposing denim and Pendleton together. Can’t wait to meet you all!

KATIA

Hey there! I'm Farm Coach Katia (KAH-tya). I'm a business and mindset coach for farmers and ranchers ready to take their businesses (and themselves) seriously. I come to the Workhorse Retreat to take MYSELF seriously as I refine the marketing fundamentals of my business. I bring with me 16 years of agricultural experience as a farmer, rancher, and direct-to-market meat producer. I look forward to masterminding with you on all things meat, marketing, and mindset!

WEBSITE

SHARLEEN

My name is Sharleen, and I'm a fifth-generation rancher's daughter from Kaua'i. Thirteen years ago, I started selling meat from my dad's ranch, which has been in our family since 1886. I sell meat just like my father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and three-times-great-grandfather did before me. I have a small ranch store where I also sell tallow products that I harvest and render myself. In addition, I manage and work at our USDA slaughterhouse and ranch, proudly carrying on the family legacy.

SARAH

I'm Sarah; a regenerative grain farmer, homesteader and lover of all things food-related. While we grow most of our own food, the goal of Living Sky Farms is to weave the threads of sustainability, nutrition, and love of the land into every aspect of what we do. We grow new and heritage varieties of cereal crops in Northern Saskatchewan, serving Canadians who mill flour at home, bake supporting our on-farm flour mill, and simply want to learn to bake from scratch and the nutritional value it provides.

JULIE

A longtime lover of animals and anything beautiful married into a ranching family. My strong natural instinct to not waste along with my husband’s drive (overdrive lol 😂 ) turned the generational beef business into what we are today! Larkin Valley Ranch Beef & Lamb.

CHELSEA

Aloha! I'm Chelsea a fourth generation rancher from Maui, where I sell pasture-raised meats with a focus on sustainability, and quality products to my community. Ranching has been in my family for generations, and I'm proud to carry on that legacy. I'm attending the Workhorse Retreat to roll up my sleeves, get things done, and take my business to the next level. I look forward to connecting with all the incredible women, learning from each other, and supporting one another as we grow our businesses!

Renee

I’m Renee! I am a flower farmer in Sandpoint Id. I’ve been flower farming for 4 years now. I offer u-pick flowers, events, wedding florals and bring flowers to the farmers market here in town.

MARI

I’m a photographer I love to know people and always have the best time doing what I love.

Psst... note from Kendall & Jess, Mari is the photographer behind all of the retreat photography and will be taking your photos at the event.

LINDSEY

I am married into a generational farming family. My husband and I run a registered black angus operation in Northern Washington State where we focus on genetics and prime beef. We raise cattle and feed in our farming life - off the farm my husband works at an oil refinery and is a county councilman.

When I'm not running the direct-to-consumer part of our ranch I work as a realtor and volunteer as much as possible in our community. I am excited to step out of my comfort zone and take in all the weekend has to offer!

What To Pack

Here are just a couple suggestions of things to bring for your time at the retreat.

  • Your laptop, cell phone, and chargers. If you don't have a laptop, please reach out to us so we can bring an extra.
  • Comfy clothes for curling up to work in the evenings.
  • Bathing suit if you want to use the hot tub.
  • An outfit that you feel great in for your branding photos. We will be taking photos and videos throughout the retreat but Mari will also be shooting privately with you so you can have a few photos to use for your business. If you don't love photos, please don't stress Mari is fabulous and will help you.
  • Something that feels 'on brand' if you want to have it included in your photos. For example a past attendee who owns a vineyard brought a bottle of her wine, a dairy farmer brought cheese, and a gym owner brought protein powder and a shaker bottle. See below for some examples from past retreats.
